Camera Shots

I wanted to take some time and practice camera shots before I started filming. The model in my photo's has a very similar look to the actor who will be in me and sarah's music video an also the locations will be similar so this gave me an idea of how it could look if I was filming given that the weather was similar. Both of theese images are medium shots, I like the effect of him being more in focus than the background, the background has alot of depth and I think this effect would work well in a music video, the lighting ad colours show warmth, this wouldn't be used for a dark or sad scene in a music video. All the images are practices and I was just trying out diffrent effects, the camera I used is a Canon DSLR 600D, I find this camera not too comlicated and I like that I could change the zoom and focus myself using the lens itself, we will either be using this camera or Canon DSLR 1100D.

I think the focus on the tree trunk here works really well especially with the background more blurred the colours stand out and this image has a lot of depth I think something like this would work well for the moments in our video where want to show the location that they're in, we want a lot of the natural environment.

This one I particularly like, the colours are rich and this image if filmed could even be used in our music video, in a section the lyrics are 'from killing all that's delicate' even though it maybe have been thought that at this point the focus would be on the female actor we want the environment around them to factor into the music video a lot so on this lyric I wanted to show something in nature that's delicate maybe a flower or leaves because of the time of year leaves are a much more achievable choice.

This image (Close up) I think shows alot of emotion, the background and the model are both out of focus but I don't think it has an amateur effect, I think it could be portrayed as the model either feeling peace or emptiness, I think you can take alot of different emotions from this image and I think a shot like this would work well in our music video.

I think the fact that this one is slightly off frame works
quite nicely because it makes it feel quite natural. The background is out of focus but I think this makes the colours more intense and it has the autumn feel I am looking for.

This location is the kind of location we want to use in our music video, I want a woodland enclosed feel, alot of autumn leaves and tree's, I think it would work well with the characters and song to have it very earthy and natural.

These are all locations we will be using in our music video, it was later afternoon around four and I knew I didn't have long until I would lose the light but this was the time of day we want it to be in our video so it has more warmth than early in the morning.

I think this location will be discussed, further down the lane there is alot more tree's it is more enclosed which gives us the feel we want, I think to early in the day and this location will just look messy and dirty instead of warm on romantic.

This is the woods we wanted to shoot in early in the music video. Actually getting to this location was hard because it was extremely muddy because of the rain and had become very over grown than the last time I ha visited but through the camera the scene looked nicer than to me in person, the light worked quite well and makes the woods look deep and plush which is what we want.

This is based on the 'delicate' lyric again, because of the wind it was hard to fully focus on the leaf so this something we will have to take into consideration, I had to take a series of quick shots to get the leaf without blur and even then it still wasn't perfect.
