Interextuality

Interexuality is where alludes to, or references, another text. This is a notion introduced by Julia Kristeva, she argued against the concep of a text as an isolated entity which operates in a self-contained manner, she says that "any text is the absorption and transformation of another". An example of this is Blink 182 - All The Small Things, where the band recreate diffrent scenes from other music videos in the 90's. Interexuality is used in this video as a parody, the band are punk and very diffrent to what theyre showing in the music video, theyre mimicing boy bands from the 90's in a parody form, this is to amuse there targe audience and make them seem like they dont like mainsteam music and wont just be like 90's boy bands because its not what they respect,



The music video for Appluase by Lady Gaga eludes to greek mythology when Gaga mimics the greek god Aprodite this is a form of interexuality. It is used to show her confidence and how she see's herself as god-like and womanly.



 
Interxuality is used to show artists other intrests such as films or people they aspire to be, parodys are to joke and mimic other forms of text that they don't value.

In our music video we have intertexuality because we have tok inspiration from other music videos and form of media. Such as our establishing shot will be of the scenary and we want nature to be shown throughout, we got inspiration fom Ben Howards Old Pine music video.

In our music video we want the couple to be what our target audience aspire to be like but we still want it to be realistic, some ideas for shots we got were from The Neighbourhoods - Sweater Weather music video.



For a shot we want the couples to be holding hands and I wanted it to be like a scene I'd already seen from a shot in skins, the way they hold hands shows alot of emotion and between the couple. I found an image on tumblr of this scene and it is exactly what I want the shot to be like in our music video.
