A Magazine Advertisement For The Digipak - Construction from SundasBostan
I think this final poster is very well planned, everything in the image is their for a reason and to help promote. I think the 'sin city' effect works well because it draws all the focus to the teddy bear in the image and the image of the artist. The album name is in bold and is very large so it stands out. The idea behind the growing plant image is very interesting and shows that they have thought alot about this, even though in the final image it is faded it still makes it look interesting and is something people think about. They filled out the eyes on the teddy bear to make it look more professional, even the slightest details make a difference. They have added quotes and ratings to make it seem like a respected and recommended album, they have also shown that it is available on itunes which is promoting different forms of the album. They also added the 'Billboard' logo to associate it with a legitimate respected site again. The artists name is in the same font on the poster as it is on the album, I like this because this makes the name recognisable.
I like this design, I think the image of the artist which I assume is the album cover doesn't look very professional which brings it down but the other features of the magazine cover seem very legitimate and like it could be a real advert. I think the ratings and adding itunes logo etc. is something I will defiantly consider for my magazine advert, by associating it with other well known names it will seem more professional and legitimate.

Digipaks job for a cowboy from ryanwheartytwbs
I think it is good that the student starts off by explaining what a digipak is and mking it clear that is different from the average album. He also does a very good analysis of several digipaks, he looks at different artists and how there albums have progressed overtime.

This is another digipak analysis, the explanation of a digipak is good but when he looks at the conventions of general digipaks he is too narrow, he has only looked at one indie digipak and his views on the common conventions are solely based on that which inst a valid representation.

Excellent research into the methodology of digipaks as well as looking at the work of others.
