Focus Group

For our focus group we decided to do a questionnaire aimed at a focus group of 17-21 year olds. The question we're based on their music taste, what the they liked and disliked in music videos, what colours the associate with certain feelings and their opinions on other digipaks.

These are two sets of results. The results show a varied set of opinions which is good because it'll give us a lot of ideas. Unfortunately we didn't get an overwhelming amount of responses so we have also one a survey monkey survey which we think will get us more responses from more age ranges.

This is the slide show we shows to our focus group.

Here are two of the answers sheet we gave to our focus group.

Theese are the collated answers

I put the results into a table so they could be compared. From the results of the questionnaire we found that in general people don't tend to spend alot of money on music if any, they prefer to download music but some would buy if they were one of their favourite bands, male was popular as favourite artist or both but we didn't get any responses for women alone. When it comes to music videos what was attractive was the story, creativity, dancing, clever plots, instruments, women, sex and if its imaginative and different. What was disliked in music videos was being over the top, flashy, confusing, having no logic, close up of just the artist, cliche scenario, naked men, genetic dances, too much going on and obvious product placement. When looking at colour the colours they found soothing were pink, white, green, blue, red, light purple, orange, purple, sky blue, light green and colours they found euphoric were pink, red, purple, yellow and neon colours and the rest of the information is in the table.

For a way to get more results from a wider range of ages from our target audience we decided to do an online survey here are our results.

We had responses from 16-21 year olds which is what we wanted to get varied opinions.
